Landscaper wins Harrods Deal

An interior-landscape firm has found the ideal shop window to promote its business after winning the contract to provide planting for one of the world’s most famous stores.
Indoor Garden Design, based in Highgate, London, has won the £30,000 contract to landscape all 26 windows at Harrods, London, after initially supplying contemporary garden displays for the Outdoor Living area within the store, as well as landscaping its Easter window.
Manager Ian Drummond believes it is a great opportunity for any landscaping company. He said: “There’s no direct advertising for our work, but any enquiries will be passed on by Harrods.”
The 13 main widows will follow a travel theme, and will include: Mexico, planted with cacti; the US, planted with Yucca and grasses; and the Caribbean, with crotons and Dracaena.

There will be four windows dedicated to England, which will include a flower garden containing geraniums, lilies and sunflowers, and a traditional garden landscaped with Buxus.
Drummond said that a simple planting scheme will be used for the 13 side windows, which will display menswear, using contemporary containers planted with Freesia, cacti and Guzmania.
All works will be carried out on site, behind screens, over the course of two weekends, with the English-themed windows scheduled for unveiling at the beginning of May.
Drummond said a plant replacement service will be provided, to keep the display looking fresh.
